OK, so swap. I have a lot to talk about, so this confessional is probably going to be rambly lol.
Let's start with the new tribe. NuWuyi consists of four old Wuyi members...me, todd, sierra, and Reynold. Vs three old other tribe members...lindsey, tyson, malcolm. There's also the added wrinkle of Chris. If Chris comes to Wuyi (which will happen if we lose the challenge), the numbers will even up. 4v4. But Chris must be on the bottom, since he was picked dead last, right? I hope. I have a plan to keep myself safe, assuming that is the case. I'll get to that later, hopefully.
Here's what I think about my new tribemates (because I honestly have a lot to say about them):
Malcolm is...ok. He's from the UK, so his time zones are all off kilter from the rest of ours. But that's fine, he helped out with the challenge and was overall a productive tribe member. Unfortunately for him, the swap is when the game becomes less about helpfulness, and more about numbers.
FORTUNATELY for him, he has a pre-game friend on Wuyi. And her name is Sierra. -_- Yep, Sierra has THREE pre-game friends in this game. Me, Reynold, and Malcolm. Cute. I know the game she's playing at...tell all three of her pre-game friends that they're her #1, bring them as far as she wants, and then dump them. Well, that isn't going to fly with me. :x Some of her pre-game allies have to go ASAP, and Malcolm unfortunately is the one I can target the easiest.
When to do that? I don't know. Sierra will want to keep Malcolm through the merge, most likely. So I think the easiest time to target Malcolm would be right at the start of the merge. I'll expose the pre-game alliance, if I have to.
Next up:
Oh my jesus christ, this chick is a mess. Where do I begin?
Well, she gave off a very good first impression. She obviously has a strong social game, which of course lead me to believe that she most likely had allies on her old tribe. BUT, I got to know her a bit last night and today, just in case. Here are a few things I know about her.
- She's actually a gay male (holy shit as if that wasn't obvious from the beginning).
- She hates pizza.
- She loves TWD and weird ass novels I've never heard of before.
- She has a boyfriend...who she showers with. Also, she is waiting to have sex until marriage with said boyfriend.
Oh also
- She likes to cyber with people on Survivor ORGs.
Now, I don't have a problem with flirting. Flirting's a valid and fun tool in these games. But I find actually cybering with people who's faces I haven't seen incredibly awkward. Especially when the person cybering with you has a boyfriend who isn't going to have sex with you until marriage. :X
I've been deflecting the cybering as best I can, and I hope she's getting the message lol. I think she's only being this friendly to make it through the swap phase because the tribe layout kind of fucked her over. Which is fine, but I've picked up on it. And I want her out ASAP.
Next up...
I actually really like Tyson. He's a wicked chill dude and we have a lot in common. If we were on the same tribe, we totally would be strong allies and would've got along swimmingly. UNFORTUNATELY we weren't on the same tribe, so his fates aren't looking too hot if we go to tribal a couple times.
THAT said, I'm planning on talking to Tyson and maybe digging up some info. If he was on the bottom in his old tribe, I'd love to work with him and use him against Sierra's pregame army. But if I think he had connections...gotta cut him loose.
Right now, I think I'm doing really well with sticking to my game plan. I don't THINK anyone is looking at me as a target, and I'm doing my best to appear like my head is not completely in the game. Which is exactly what I want. People are giving me little bits of info which I can extrapolate on, and all the while I'm gaining a lot of social connections and overall strategic capital that I can use to eventually grab this game by the balls.
That's the hope anyway.
The one wrinkle in my short term plans...
And his name is Chris muthafucking Daughtrey.
If he comes in, he's going to even the tribal numbers 4-4. Which means that my Wuyi friends could end up in trouble, as well as me. Thankfully, I have a pretty simple plan to save my ass for two, maybe three votes. And that plan can elegantly be stated in one sentence..
Throw Sierra, Reynold, and Malcolm's asses under the bus.
We'll see if I have to do that though. Stay tuned.
