Merge time, bitches! I'm on the Luoxiao tribe with Andrea, Brandon, Fabio, Malcolm, Marty, RC, Reynold, Sierra, Sonja, Todd and Tyson. After the double tribal council last round, I was expecting either a merge or a swap, so I can't say I'm surprised. I'm not sure if it came at a good time for my game, but I think I should be okay and have a lot of options everywhere I turn. I did feel like I worked hard to set myself up in a very good position on Huaiyu. Chris got the boot 4-1-1, just like planned, except Sonja self-voted, she was absent pretty much all round.
I was worried Chris could've come across an idol when he was exiled, so made sure he voted Marty, just in case. I felt bad lying to him, but I had to protect myself! Chris really did seem like a genuinely nice person, I think he got the short end of the stick for sure. He was pretty good socially though, and I don't think was ever going to trust me after all the lies I fed him, so I'm content with the decision. Now I'm reunited with Fabio, Todd, Sierra and Reynold, and meeting Malcolm and Tyson for the first time.
Lindsey got voted off on Wuyi, Fabio/Todd/Sierra/Reynold stuck together in the end, taking out Lindsey over Malcolm, because she was more of a threat. She got voted out 6-1, she voted for Todd. If anyone was going to flip, I thought it might be Todd, but he didn't, thankfully. Apparently, she flipped out when she heard she was leaving, so called everyone out and exposed some alliance she tried to make with Fabio/Reynold/Tyson, for betraying her. I'm pleased I didn't have to meet her, she sounds like trash.
My former Wuyi tribemates were surprised RC/Brandon/myself managed to make it through to the merge intact, despite being outnumbered 5-3. So I explained to them everything that went down, and the tension between Sonja and Joe/Chris, which definitely helped the three of us, shockingly not even getting a vote at either of the two tribal councils. After two original Wuyi members left to start off the game, four original Huaiyu have left in a row, so my original tribe has numbers 7-5. Of course, it was discussed amongst us that we should stick together.
I don't know if it's necessarily going to play out that way, I feel like I'm caught up in several alliances, pretty much all with RC roped into them too, and we're going to have some pretty big decisions to make in the near future. I think I'm set up well and do have a path to get myself very deep into the game, I just really have to think through the consequences of every decision, because if I make the wrong one, send the wrong player out and put my trust in the wrong people, it could put an end to my game in the snap of a finger.
My alliances are Peih-Gee/RC/Sierra/Reynold, Peih-Gee/RC/Brandon, Peih-Gee/Fabio/Brandon, Peih-Gee/RC/Sonja, Peih-Gee/RC/Andrea, Peih-Gee/RC/Marty. Then of course there's former Wuyi and swapped Huaiyu. In addition I have a deal with Todd, and I think RC and I have an understanding that we're each others closest allies and will play this game to the end together. I feel that way about her, I hope she does with me! She's certainly the one I talk the most strategy with, and we seem to be on the same page with every decision.
But all those alliances can't stay intact forever. In fact, there's already signs that Peih-Gee/RC/Sierra/Reynold is cracking. RC/Reynold came to me and said they're really put off by Sierra's attitude, they think she's shady and didn't like how she was demanding people give her tokens in the challenge. I wasn't surprised that RC felt that way, but I was shocked Reynold did, because I was under the assumption they were a tight duo this whole game, to the point where I've been looking at splitting them up forever.
A new alliance has been formed, Peih-Gee/RC/Reynold/Andrea/Tyson. I never felt particularly close to Reynold, despite being in an alliance with him, but him distancing himself from Sierra will certainly bring him closer to me. I've always liked Andrea, but felt she did have allies with her original Huaiyu tribe, that Sonja didn't, apparently it was her who urged for Tyson to be included in this group. But I think I'd be set up will in that alliance, me/RC/Reynold or me/RC/Andrea could easily be the core, I do really like Tyson too.
The challenge itself sucked, we had to give tokens to other players, whoever collected the most won immunity. We had to depend on others giving us tokens to win, rather than our own performance. I didn't want to have to worry about people speculating about where my allegiances were, so I simply gave a token to everyone. RC/Tyson got a bad fortune from the temple last round, meaning they got a challenge disadvantage, having to take longer to wait between giving out the tokens. Reynold/Sierra ended up winning, which I didn't necessarily expect, but wasn't too surprised.
I think Sierra's really put herself in hot water. She's going to the temple, along with Reynold, cause they won the challenge together. I'm curious to hear what's going to happen in there, I'd much rather Reynold gets ahold of any good fortune. Sierra can get the bad fortune, for all I care! It was pretty clear to me that booting Sonja was the way to go. It sucks, cause I really did feel like she was completely loyal to me, I considered her my next closest ally to RC. But since Joe left, she's vanished, so she's not going to be much help to my game.
I'm going to appear shady if I campaign to keep her around, and besides, I'm not interested in anyone leaving before someone who's not even here. Sierra thinks differently, she sees this as an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone. Seeing as Sonja would be removed if she stayed, due to potentially self-voting for a second time, Sierra wants to take out another former Huaiyu, and has been throwing out Marty, Andrea and Tyson's names. She's mentioned that Malcolm's "with us", so I kind of feel like she has him in her back pocket, she doesn't want him targeted.
I've not even heard from Malcolm at all, he seems pretty under the radar, but I don't see him really fitting into my game at this point, so I wouldn't be too upset if the target falls on him in the coming rounds. I could see it happening, cause everybody noted that Sierra wasn't willing to throw Malcolm under the bus, so she has him wrapped around her finger, either that or she wants to take him to the end, which wouldn't surprise me either. But for this round, it seems a unanimous vote for Sonja is on the cards, a simple vote before major moves are made in the coming rounds.
