Finally we won our first challenge! It was long overdue. We should've won at least one of the first two challenges, maybe even both. Losing wasn't an option, to be down three members already would've been a disaster. Thankfully, we're only down by one, so at least we have a shot! Brandon ended up revealing that he got voted into the temple last round, he ended up getting a vote doubler. Perfect! That'll come useful when we swap, seeing as we're still down by a number, it could turn the game around for us.
Overall, the vibe is pretty quiet on Wuyi. Last round there was a huge build up to whether Sierra/Corinne would leave, and the high possibility of a split vote and me having to pick a side and blow up my game already. So it's back to playing both sides for Peih-Gee! I think Fabio's my fave person on the tribe, along with RC and Brandon. I don't really talk to Reynold, Sierra and Todd all that much, I'm still wary of Reynold/Sierra but their alliance is so obvious that it'd make it easy to get others to turn on them later down the road.
Huaiyu ended up voting out So, which didn't surprise me. I figured it'd be her or Malcolm, from memory, they didn't help out in the previous challenge, so I gathered they were dead weight to their tribe. You gotta contribute if you wanna stick around! I ended up volunteering to get voted into the temple this round. RC told me she was voting for me, I told her I was gonna vote her, but she insisted that I vote for myself. I suggested to Brandon/Fabio that I'd be happy to get voted in this round, without being too pushy.
They agreed, and in the end, I'm relieved I got in! It would've been awkward if someone got into the temple instead, and I had to find out who lied, but thankfully that's not the case. I got to "take" or "leave" the prize, if both of us "take" we get nothing and a penalty. If we both "leave" we get nothing, but no penalty. If one choose to "take" and the other "leave", then the person who chose to "take" gets the prize, the person who chose to "leave" gets nothing. I thought about it hard, in the end I chose to "leave".
I didn't think the prize was that helpful overall. It was being tribe captain for an upcoming swap, and choosing who'd be the captain for the other tribe. If it was a vote doubler, or something like Brandon got, I might've risked choosing to "take", but it didn't seem worth it. I didn't want to end up with a vote penalty or something, which could be disastrous heading to a swap, and could be the end of my game. Plus I figured, if I was tribe captain, I'd have to rank my tribemates, and that could reveal where I stand with everyone, which wouldn't be ideal.
It's just been announced that we are swapping before next round! It sucks, cause we're still down by a number. One tribe will be even with Huaiyu, one will be outnumbered. I'm hoping I end up on the even tribe, preferably with Brandon, cause he's got the vote doubler. It's gonna suck if Huaiyu have the numbers, cause they'll just vote together every round for themselves to go to the temple and there's nothing we can do about it. Reynold ended up volunteering to be tribe captain, he said he ranked me, Sierra and RC at the top.
I'm glad I didn't have to show my hand and pick between my two alliances, the swap will save me from that. I did feel like I had a pretty good read of this tribe and what everyone's intentions were, maybe I'm delusional, but that's just how I felt. It sucks that rug's about to be swept from underneath me. I'm pretty nervous, this swap could be the end of my game, I just have to cross my fingers and hope it turns out for the best! I don't wanna leave Jiangxi just yet, I still have to slay some bitches before I'm satisfied. <3
